It was all based on a casual suggestion from a guest at the Tour, who wanted to come back [...] Cycling fans everywhere are looking forward to the Alpe d’Huez mountain-top finish on July 22. Not only is it a crazy-short road stage at 110k (68m), but it really consists of just the Telegraph-Galibier climb, the subsequent descent, followed by the 21-switchback suffer-fest to the finish line. Our main July cycling program will be a high-service seven-day trip in conjunction with the Tour (our 22nd year!) with a focus mostly on the Alps. The week will include our signature mix of relaxed days and longer rides contrasting with action-packed days of Tour-viewing and [...] It’s funny, the French word for “experienced” is “experimenté”. Kind of like you have experimented a lot and maybe learned something along the way.
