Les Crazies of Mont Ventoux
Founded in 1988 by a passionate French cyclist, the original Club des Cinglés du Mont Ventoux, or the “Crazies of Mont Ventoux,” was established to honor any cyclist who succeeded in climbing Mont Ventoux by each of its three main routes in a single day. Thousands of cyclists from around the world have met this challenge that requires 136 kilometers/85 miles of cycling and 4285 meters/14,058 feet of climbing.

In 1998, a fourth forest road was added to the challenge and the Club des Galériens du Mont Ventoux, or the “Slaves of Mont Ventoux,” was created. A few hundred cyclists have completed the 190 kilometers/118 miles of cycling and 5922 meters/19,429 feet of climbing required for this super human effort.
