Alps & Lake Annecy | July 9-15

Hotel Le Lac, Talloires Based in a single, lakeside hotel on the gorgeous Lake Annecy from July 9-15, this seven-day program takes a civilized approach to the Tour’s first week in the mountains. Our Alps & Lake Annecy trip features a perfect mix: six days of Alpine cycling, three Tour viewing days, pro-style guide support and your choice of either a 3-star hotel (pictured right) or a 4-star hotel, both of which are lakeside in Talloires (pictured below).

Please download the Alps & Lake Annecy itinerary for a complete summary and day-by-day highlights. We’re limiting this program to just 15 guests.

Best Day For a sweet mix of race viewing and riding, we have an epic day planned for July 11 (stage 8), the first full-blown mountain day of the Tour. Leaving from the hotel, the ride heads north through the Alpine foothills to intersect the Tour route. Once on the Tour course, we’ll tackle the Col de la Ramaz (14K/9M, 7%) and the final Avoriaz climb (14K/9M, 6%) to the finish. There, we’ll lunch and catch the mountain top finish live. Our helicopter transfer off the mountain will provide superb views of the splendid scenery and the crowded roads below.

The switchbacks of the lovely Col de la Madeleine Toughest Ride On July 13, we’ll take on the north side of the Col de la Madeleine (25K/15M, 6%), following the race course uphill for some serious hors categorie climbing. Following several days of mountain riding, the legs will definitely feel it!

Coolest Inclusion If it’s not our helicopter ride after the Avoriaz mountain-top finish, then it’s being based for a week of riding and Tour viewing in Talloires on Lake Annecy, one of the most beautiful places in Europe.
